Terry McKean's "Wackercycle"

Whilst travelling south on the Pacific Coast Highway (CA 1) in November of 2006, I happened to stop at the restaurant/deli/convenience store in fabulous Gorda, CA. Up rode this chap on his home-built "moped" and I snapped these photos. Sadly, I neglected to get a photo of Terry, the maker.

The right brake lever (on the handlebar) is used to pull the friction drive on the weed wacker into the rear tire, hence acting as a clutch. I think he's using the front derailleur mechanism as part of the "clutch". The friction drive appears to be a spark plug socket.
